Rising Stars news release:

Rising Stars Inc. is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a series of instructional Basketball clinics in the Blacksburg,Virginia area for boys in grades 6-10, MAY 8th-May 10th, Blacksburg Recreational Center, 7pm-10pm

Each clinic will be by registration only, limited to 12 boys,& free of charge.

Local H.S and recreation coaches will invite qualified boys and also attend the clinics.
Rising Stars is a non profit foundation that has been introducing basketball and teaching basketball skills for over 25 years.

Its special brand of basketball instruction has been the featured attraction for college and NBA camps across the country, Canada and throughout Europe.

Rising Stars has also been a feature of the Michael Jordan camps and at Walt Disney sports.

Rising Stars was the first to introduce the interactive clinic making every participant an active part of the instructional process.

Rising Stars clinics make learning “fun-damental”.

The Blacksburg clinics will focus on ball handling and guard skills and offer a general overview of basketball offense.

The clinics are being offered in response to the number of requests to the foundation from area coach’s that have seen the results of Rising Stars sessions outside of Blacksburg.
Area youth coordinator Duncan Driscoll is one of the coaches responsible for bringing Rising Stars to Blacksburg.

“I have seen Rising Stars in action for a number of years and I have never seen a participant walk away without a big smile on their face. That to me is as important as coming away with a strong sense of improvement, which goes with out saying.

Making a child feel good about what they are doing is the real test of sports instruction. That’s the strength of this program and why I am glad it’s coming to Blacksburg.”

A byproduct of the introductory clinics will hopefully be the beginning of local and travel teams in Blacksburg that represents Rising Stars.
