‘‘The Best Way to Predict The Future is To Create It”

Educators agree that children can learn the lessons and values they need to succeed at a very early age through play, competition and participation in sports.

The challenge is that over 50% of today’s children stop playing organized sports before entering HS.That is a contributing factor to the moral crisis and the vacuum in learning that children are facing today.

Rising Stars believes that children are the future and what they do at an early age is critical to what they do later in life. We strive to enroll grade school children in programs that they want to be in, and that they want to stay in, throughout HS. We utilize these programs as an educational model that develops leadership skills, responsibility, and accountability. Through playing and participating on teams throughout HS, we provide children with the tools they need to make important choices and decisions in their formative years.

With the assistance of trained, qualified educators, coaches and volunteers, Rising Stars has had a remarkable success rate on the outcome of both at-risk youth, as well as those youth who have strong parental guidance. Our primary objective is to lay the foundation for success in the minds and hearts of every child in our program. Our commitment to youth and their parents is unique and one that is life long.

Goals

• To continue enrolling grade school children through clinics and outreach programs and keep them in our programs throughout HS.
  
• To expand our Rising Stars outreach programs nationally.
  
• To recruit and train professional educators, coaches and mentors for the Rising Stars Programs
  
• To hire qualified teachers to operate our after-school tutorial and homework programs
  
• To continue in the development and supervision of effective after-school programs
  
• To teach decision-making and life skill courses to youth grades 3- 12
  
• To provide academic and athletic scholarship assistance
